STEWART MISTAKE COSTS COLOURS
Colours: Stewart, Scott, Al, John, Rupert, Paul P, Jimmer, Alex
Yellows: Tom, MarkGM, Rob, Steve C, Paul B, Jamie, Felix, Tony
Score: Colours 3-5 Yellows
A tight game required something special to win it, or a cock up to let the other team in, unfortunately for Stewart and his team it was his mistake that led to their demise. At 3 all the game was well balanced but Stewart (chasing back note it) dithered on the ball and Mark did what Mark does best and nicked the ball off Stew leaving John exposed in goal like a naked rambler and he slotted home.
The game started so well for Stewart as he buzzed around and scored the first goal of the game in the 20th minute. He then saw his team take a 2-1 lead and a 3-2 lead, before the collapse started.
Mark had a fine game as he and Jamie often combined to cause problems for the Colours defence, though Al stood up well to the challenge. Mark helped himself to a hatrick as he piled on the agony for the Colours by slotting in the fifth and the Yellows never really looked like getting back into it.
Funny points of the game were:
- Al lying on the floor to get in the way of a shot
- Stewart claiming a hatrick, but wait a minute we only scored 3 and Scott scored one!
- Paul B turning up in a new shirt, which surprised everyone
- John turning up late, which surprised no one
GOODBYE - Jamie (Torres lookalike) is off to live and work in London. Living in a house with loads of mates, can we visit? Jamie may be back every now and again, but that is basically it for now. Good luck Jamie.
VOTES: Tom is keen to get the Pete Swift award (award given to the person who has contributed the most to Tuesday nights) nominations in by 16th October please. Presentations for this years awards may take place in the bar after the game on 18.12.07, there may be a few snacks to boot! Curry night possible date is 7.12.07 - this is only for players on a Tuesday not some random person who reads the blog, I know there are thousands out there.
Man of the Match - There were some good performances tonight, but Mark GM has to win this one for his 3 goals and some good saves as well.
