COLOURS SUCCUMB TO YELLOWS LATE SHOW

Match Report: 9.10.07

Colours: Stewart, Mark GM, Scott, Rupert, James(left at half time injured), Tony, Steve W, Jimmer, Bob (2nd Half)
Yellows: Tom, Felix, Alex, Rob, Rich, Badge, Paul B, Shane, Bob (1st Half)

Score: Colours 5 - 5 Yellows

This was a game the Colours should have won at a canter, but I guess you could say Australia should have beaten England at rugby. In saying that the Yellows, with the man advantage, made the brighter start and swarmed all over the Colours, but failed to create any clear cut chances. The Colours though had one chance on the 15 minute mark and took it when Jimmer was not picked up at a corner and volleyed in.

10 minutes later the Yellows levelled when the ball was not cleared properly and Badge scored through a crowd of players, though the Colours went straight up the other end and scored through Jimmer after good approach work by Stew.

After this James had to leave the field after he felt pain in the ribs and Bob (having a rather strange night of sublime and ridiculous stuff) changed teams.

Yellows got to grips with the changes first and Mark made a hash of a clearance leaving Rob (who some wit suggested he had Simon Cowell shorts on as they were pulled up high) to square the ball to Rich who had an easy tap in.

There followed a flurry of goals as Jimmer completed his hatrick, Alex fired one into the corner, Felix scored an OG and Bob scored an outrageous goal from long range, it eluded everyone and found the top corner.

Then as the Colours tried to close the game out at 5-3 they were trying all the fancy tricks but leaving their own goal exposed and this suited Badge who forced Jimmer into an own goal and then levelled it up with the last kick of the game. It left Mark saying 'I can't believe that.' Less tricks and more football was the lesson learnt Colours.

Man of the Match: Despite the late OG Jimmer gets it for 3 goals and an assist.
