ANDY HELPS COLOURS TO CLOSE WIN

Match Report:21.10.08

Colours: Stew W, Andy, Corn, Rupert, Paul B, Paul P, Scott

Yellows: Rob, Stew, Jimmer, Steve C, James, Heath, Simon

Score: Colours 9-8 Yellows

This was a tight game, but probably should not have been. For long periods of the game the Colours dominated this game, but failed to take their chances with some poor decision making, bad misses, bad luck and good saves. In contrast the Yellows made the most of their early chances and scored 2 with their first opportunities, though Corn (the new boy from a small town of On the Cob, in hindsight he should have been in the Yellow team) will regret his mistake letting Jimmer in.

However the Colours remained in touch largely due to Andy pulling the strings and Stew W who is getting back to his best.

Goals were traded and after new boy Stew thundered in a volley to put the Yellows 5-4 up Rupert decided to test his bad leg, neck, back etc and have a run on the pitch. Rupert soon made an impact scoring 5 goals, running the Yellows ragged, well OK that did not really happen, but Andy was certainly causing problems and scored 2 good goals to nudge his team ahead.

After this the Yellows went on to totally dominate and went 9-5 up with some great football and a step over from Rupert as well, it could have been more, but then the concentration went letting the Yellows in for 3 late goals, in the end not reflecting the game, but fair play to the Yellows tenacity.

Man of the Match - Andy for another great performance.

TUESDAY BOYS FLY THE FLAG IN COMMANDO CHALLENGE

On 11.10.08 Rupert, Felix and Andy (of 2 Saints 2 Sinners) were part of a 4 man team that took part in the Commando Challenge in Devon. Yes I may look slow and unfit but we managed to clock a time of 33 minutes for the 3 mile course of tunnels, bogs, waist high water and the dreaded sheep dip (2m under water tunnel). The time was good enough to win the male category and the vets category, so in a nutshell we cleaned up.

Autographs follow after Tuesday night.

THE CUPBOARD IS BARE

Match Report 14.10.08

Colours: Stew, Rock, James, Paul P, Rupert, Scott (last 20)
Yellows: Rob, Steve C, Paul B, Andy, Simon, Scott (first 40)

Score: Yellows 7-7 Colours

I am and back, but probably briefly as injury still riddles the old body, and for those of you who want to know where I was, I was in training for the Commando Challenge with Felix and Andy, which took place on Saturday, well Andy needed help around the course so I obliged. For those who don't care ignore the last sentence.

It is sad to hear from Andy that the numbers have been consistently low and tonight was no different, we need new blood as Dracula said to his followers. The cupboard is definitely bare.

Due to the low numbers it was difficult to get into, but Stew's team did a fine job of hanging in there for most of the game and in fact took the lead twice, Stew had a fine game scoring a hat-trick in the process and Rupert made some good saves to keep the score down. In the end the 7 all result was the a deserved outcome for both sides as it was a close game all the way.

Man of the Match - Stew for a good performance. Well done to all those who turn up regularly.
