TJ AND JAMIE ARE THE 70'S BOYS

Match Report: 6.3.07

Colours: Steve, Badge, Rich, John, Al, James, Paul B, Shane (for most of the game)
Yellows: Rupert, Jamie, Felix, TJ, Tony, Scott, Jimmer

Score: Colours 3-5 Yellows

You may wonder what the hell I am on about when you see the headlines for this game, but this was vintage football from the Yellows. In fact it may have been more appropriate if the Yellows were in fact Orange. The passing, moving and pure skill factor was on par with the Dutch team of the 70's, all the Colours could do was watch and admire.

TJ and Jamie had the look (with the hairstyles and skill) of a Neeskins and Kroll and this was also evident in their two long range strikes. First it was Jamie with a 25 yard pile driver, which Al just watched go in (to be fair a tree in the wind would have moved more), this was followed by TJ's 25 yard plus drive which also flew in past the hapless keeper.

Badger was the only danger for the Yellows as he used his own box of tricks to unsettle the ageing defence. On one occasion he completley baffled Felix with a lovely nutmeg. In fact Badge opened the scoring and then levelled up at 2-2, before the Dutch boys took over (Jamiskins and T van J). However the Colours may point to Rich's early injury (which clearly hampered the young midfielder, though he bravely continued) as the turning point.

The comedy moment came when Scott was running all over the place (as Paul B tracked him) saying 'Oh yes I have tied him up in knots,' before Paul tackled him and Scott caught him in the nose leaving Paul in some discomfort (please note this part was obviously not funny).

Man of the Match: Congratulations to TJ who wins his first award. TJ was buzzing all over the park tonight, breaking up play, good passing and a great goal to boot.
