FITNESS IS THE KEY FOR YELLOWS

Match Report: 29.5.07

Colours: Stewart, Bob, Jimmer, James, Rupert, Mark GM, Tony, Dave, Rich

Yellows: Tom, Paul B, Paul L, Jamie, TJ, Badge, Shane, Felix, Rob

Score Colours 3 - 5 Yellows

When you looked at the teams you could be forgiven in thinking it was going to be an even match, but when you looked deeper it was clear to see this would be hard work for the Colours. I would not mind betting that Tom had pre-planned his team and had them working in a boot camp all week. They were fit, fresh and on a low fat high carb diet all week. The Colours, on the other hand, looked like a team who liked their luxuries in life. They were not bothered about a low fat high carb diet, it was high beer, curry and late nights on the PS2 or 3, whatever it is now.

In actual fact it was a game of two halves. The Colours were out of the traps early and dominated the first 45 minutes going three up through 2 goals from the goal machine and one for Bob. At times Mark looked unplayable, but may have been guilty of over doing it, unlike me who under did it all game! Well I had been out for 4 weeks.

However out of the blue (and on the 45 minute mark) the Yellows nicked a goal through Badge. After this it was more or less one way traffic with Tom, Jamie, TJ, Badge and Co buzzing around and pulling the defence all over the place creating too much space for the likes of Jamie who punished them with two well taken goals. In contrast the Colours stopped working as the curry and beer took their toll and there was only going to one winner, yes the fit Yellows.

Man of the Match: Well done to Jamie again who wins yet another award. Jamie warmed up for this game by cycling 12 miles and then scored two cracking goals and buzzed around like an angry bee, OK maybe a slightly annoyed bee.

YELLOW IS NOT BAD LUCK FOR TOM

Short match report: 15.5.07

Yellows: Tom, Scott, Al, Mark GM, TJ, Jamie

Colours: Stew, Felix, Shane, Paul B, John, Dave, Rich

Score: Yellows 5 2 Colours

Yellow shirts may be bad news when England play (Brazil, Sweden and any other shite team that wears Yellow) and Saints who sadly crashed out of the play-offs, but not for Tom's team who (in the end) won at a canter.

In fact this score line could have been a whole lot worse if it had not been for the inspirational John (Terry) Martin who blocked and tackled anything in a Yellow shirt (including the poor old lady who was wearing a yellow coat and was felled by the six foot Swedish looking defender as she innocently walked by).

Despite John's heroics the Colours were led a merry dance by Mark, Jamie and TJ and eventually fell to a late flurry of goals.

Man of the Match: John (his first) for all the reasons mentioned above. Well done John boy :)

JAMES SHINES IN COLOURS WIN

Short Match Report: 8.5.07

Colours: Stew, Ash, Felix, Mark GM, James, Jamie, Paul B

Yellows: Tom, Mark B, John, Shane, Dave, TJ, Rich

Score: Colours 5-3 Yellows

Well this week Stew got his team right with a 5-3 win. It was reported to me that it was a good passing game of football (probably helped by the fact that there was a bit more space this week), with some fine performances from Jamie and Mark in attack and an inspired game from Ash.

Man of the Match: This weeks choice went to James (good to see the player of 2006 in on the act) he was solid at the back and comfortable on the ball, though he would like to forget his open goal miss!

Could players please let Tom know if they can play next week, bearing in mind Saints play Derby live on Sky.

YELLOWS CRUISE

Short Match Report : 1.5.07

Score: Yellows 6-1 Colours

Well done to Tom's team who apparently cruised to an easy win against a hapless Colours team.

Man of the Match: It was reported to me that Heath and Rich had good games for the Yellows, but the award (his first) goes to Badger for bagging plenty of goals.
