RARE RUPERT HATRICK IN YELLOWS ROMP

Match Report: 28.11.06

Yellows: Rupert, John, Simon, Jamie, Mark, Tony, TJ, Jimmer, Geoff (1st half)

Colours: Rob, Shane, James, Scott, Badge, Paul B, Tom, Steve, Geoff (2nd half)

Score: Yellows 10-5 Colours

Last time I scored a hatrick was playing footie in the back garden with my 7 year old son and his mate, albeit he was good for his age, that is how rare a hatrick is for me so sorry to dwell on this, but it did help the Yellows to a comfortable win against a ragged colours team.

However it started so well for the Colours who stormed into a two goal lead despite being a man down. It took a 25 yard thunderbolt from Geoff to kick the Yellows into life. After that the game started to swing the way of the Yellows, but they were only 4-3 up when Geoff changed sides.

The Yellows weathered the Colours storm and fired goal after goal in, with regular changes of goal keeper making no difference for the Colours. The Yellows moved the ball around so quickly the Colours were getting dizzy, with Mark, Jamie and young Tony in inspired form, the latter kept reminding of his 40 yard pin point passes, then I think he woke up.

As the goals went in so the Colours became more ragged and the victory was a simple one in the end, though the Colours had the last say with a late goal from Badge. Steve Colmer tried to claim the last goal wins, but this fell on deaf ears and Steve trudged off knowing he only had his Horlicks and Mills and Boon to look forward to after a disappointing defeat.

LATE BADGER STRIKE DENIES COLOURS

Match report 21.11.06

Colours: John, James, Shane, Paul B, Simon, Bob, Felix (1st half)

Yellows: Rupert, Badger, Jamie, TJ, Alan, Scott, Felix (2nd half)

Final Score Colours 7 -7 Yellows

The yellows started the game brightly and were 2 nil up in double quick time, with Badger and Jamie causing problems (and of course Al's searing pace). Felix then turned up late and made an immediate difference charging around the pitch like a possesed rabbit (not sure what a possesed rabbit does but sounds good).

The extra man soon told and it helped Bob into the game which caused problems for the yellows. The score was soon level and then the colours edged ahead.

With 15 minutes remaining and 2 goals down Felix moved to the Yellow team and again this had an immediate impact. The yellows were soon level at 6 all and the game seemed to be theirs for the taking. However when James came out of goal the game became close again and in fact it was colours who took the lead with Bob seizing on a mistake from Rupert and firing in.

But with time running out the yellows had the last laugh when Badger slipped home a simple effort.

COLOURS RUN OUT OF STEAM

Match Report 14.11.06

Colours: Stewart, Mark, John, Steve, James, TJ, Simon, Tony

Yellows: Rupert, Jamie, Bob, Badger, Felix, Alan, Paul B, Rob, Geoff

Stewart was back this week and determined to win so he decided to pick first.

It appeared that he made the right choices as his team went into a 1 nil then 2-1 lead with fine goals from Mark and Stewart and looked comfortable on it moving the ball around confidently. The Yellows, on the other hand, were firing blanks up front with Badger and Bob not quite getting it right, in fact somebody said cow's arse and banjo is coming to mind. In fact the comedy moment came when Bob toe poked the ball over the bar and over the fence!

After a while the extra man began to show and the Yellows nosed in front with one noticeable fine goal from Jamie. At 4-2 it was the Yellows who looked comfortable and Stewart rejected the chance to have the extra man, a decision he was later to regret.

As the game came to an end there were a flurry of goals as the game became stretched. However the Yellows remained in front winning it 5-4.

At the end of the game Stewart, the disappointed captain of the colours, was quoted as saying 'we lost it because of the extra man and the fact we did not pass it better, I was particularly unhappy with Tony Greig's passing which was not good enough. He then trudged off reflecting on another defeat.

More woe for Stewart. Match report 7.11.06

Match day report 7.11.06.

Colours: Stewart, Bob, John, Jamie, Simon, Tony, Shane, Al

Yellows: Rupert, Badge, Mark, Rob, Steve, Paul B, Scott, Geoff

Score Colours 2 5 Yellows

The yellows got off to a blazing start and were 3 nil up within the first 15/20 minutes. It appeared at this point that the yellows were going to run away with it. However the colours came more into the game and Bobby, Stewart and Jamie were dominating the ball. The colours scored 2 goals to reduce the deficit and their tails were up.

The turning point came when Steve Colmer made a brave save from Bobby, which would have levelled the scores. OK so he jumped to get out of the way and the ball hit his foot!

After this point the colours took over again firing in 2 more goals to give the score an uneven look. Alan desperately tried to cheat the score, but the result still stood leaving Stewart to rue his teams missed chances.

On a more serious note: After the game finnished Steve announced that Norman had lost his 4 month old daughter to illness. Are thoughts are with him at this time. Steve suggested that players could bring a donation next week.

Welcome

Welcome to Tuesday football clubs own website. Sad or not answers on a postcard, but it can be used for match reports and forthcoming dates, such as the curry night which I believe will be on 22.12.06.
