THE FOUR AMIGOS CRUSH SORRY COLOURS
Match Report: 5.6.07
Colours: Tom, Rich, Bob, James, TJ, Rupert, Al, Shane
Yellows: Steve, Rob, Badge, Jimmer, Heath, Ash, Scott, Paul B
Score: Colours 3-7 Yellows
This was an extremely sorry performance by the Colours, a performance that fell away after about 40 minutes. It was like one of those nightmares when you find yourself in bed with Dawn French, but in this one you wake up and you are relieved that it was only a dream. In this nightmare you are James in goal and you realise that there are 4 strikers in front of you with not a defender in sight and Scott is at the far post lighting up and popping the ball in with his monkey wrench.
I knew this was going to be a bad game the moment I started the evening with 2 jokes that Badge pointed out I was the only one to laugh at.
Though the game did start well for the Colours who went 1 nil up and then 2-1 up and deservedly so as they outplayed the Yellows. However a lack of cutting edge showed and a combination of Badge, Jimmer, Rob and Scott ripped the Colours apart and, between them, they fired in 6 unanswered goals. Tom scored a late consolation, but this did not hide his disgust of how the game went.
Man of the Match: The 4 boys up front did a fine job, but Jimmer wins it with a good all round display and a couple of goals. Jim is starting to show the sort of form that won him player of the year.
