YELLOWS RUN OUT OF STEAM

Match Report: 2.9.08

Colours: Rob, Badge, Bob, Steve C, Rock, Scott, James

Yellows: Felix, Andy, Rupert, Paul P, Paul B, Jimmer

Score: Colours 7 - 7 Yellows

This result was a tough one for the Yellows to take as they led for most of the match but just failed to hold out and probably lucky they did not lose it in the end, but this would have been an injustice. Felix in his first captaincy role was determined not to lose and asked several times for the extra man, as his team battled on with a man less, but this fell on deaf ears.

Andy continued his good form and was very busy early on putting the Yellows 2 nil up early on. The Colours struggled, despite the man advantage, to begin with and did not create much, but out of the blue Scott latched onto a loose ball and placed it under the advancing Rupert, then Bob followed up when his shot took a deflection on its way into the net.

Despite this set back the Yellows came back strong and made it 4-2 when Andy completed his hatrick and Jimmer chipped in. Goals were traded with the Yellows holding their two goal advantage, but a three goal burst hurt the Yellows. Two of the goals were soft with Rupert allowing the ball to slip under his hand and he then gave the ball away to Bob who then slotted home.

However they did get themselves together and create some late chances with good inter play, leading to the eventual equaliser, which was much deserved.

Man of the Match: Andy had another strong match and Bob also helped himself to several goals, but this week goes to the underrated Paul P, who busied himself around the pitch and also scored a corking goal on the volley, which probably beat Badge's goal for goal of the game.
